Family Stage

Family Stage

A "no-badge venue" that's FREE for all to enjoy!

Bring a blanket or chair to make yourself at home on the expansive lawn that slopes to form an inviting outdoor arena offering covered shade, music and activities for kids: face painting, games, and great music by talented youngsters. (Let the kids run around and dance off all that energy so they'll sleep well later!)

"Next Generation Bands" (NGB) — You'll have an opportunity to see and hear young talent that brings a fresh approach to classic jazz. Next Generation returnees include TNT, Sax by Popular Demand (pictured above), the J Street Jazz Cats, Mission Bay High School, Raisin Babies, Take 2, and the Syncopating Sea-Monkeys (among others—see complete list on the Artists page).

In addition to face painting by Cheek Thrills, Family Stage vendors include Leatherby's Ice Cream (ice cream cones and sundaes), Lumpkin's Dirty Dogs (old-fashioned hot dogs, chips and sodas) and Rainbow Snow (corn dogs, fries, onion rings and shaved ice). All this plus upbeat music to keep the little dancers happy.
